The Planning permit process generally takes a minimum of 3 months, depending on the complexity of the planning application and the council planners workloads.
One an application is lodged and fee paid with council you should allow for the following;
If objections recieved, than this can blow it all out, hence, minimum 3 months.
All applications submitted to LCV are assessed each of there merits, no matter if you have submitted and been granted a licence in the past, all applications are re assessed as new applications are are assessed in line with the provisions of the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998, the associated regulations, guidelines and / or policies.
Once submitted, and application wait in que to be lodged, this can take anywehere from 14 to 30 days to occure, depending on the LCV workloads of the delegates. Once lodged a legislated periof of 30 days applys and during this time, council, police and public are notified for comments ( a public notice is displayed at the site).
When being assessed an application can be either contested or uncontested, if contested the time frames may be extended due to the need to obtain further details and notify objectors of any response.
The average time frame for an uncontested application ranges from 5 to 15 weeks and again is very dependent on LCV delegates workloads and timely response to external referral information being returned to LCV for assessment from council and Victoria Police. If the application is a contested application that has received objections the time frames can be extended to 6 months or more depending if there are reviews etc..
